Engineering Experimentation and Data Analysis
This course presents methodologies in engineering experimentation and data interpretation, including uncertainty analysis and signal processing techniques. A brief introduction to wind-tunnel performance calculations is covered.

Propulsion Systems I
This course presents aerospace propulsion systems (a particular focus on aircraft engines) with propeller theory, fundamental aerothermodynamics of ideal airbreathing engines. Integration of propulsion systems into an overall vehicle design with mission analysis and fundamental performance relations are covered.

Propulsion Systems II
Following Propulsion Systems I, this course delves deeper into the details of aircraft engines, starting with component performance. Parametric cycle analysis (PCA) of real (non-ideal) engines, as well as engine performance analysis (EPA), will be studied in detail. Additionally, the performance analysis of turbomachinery components such as compressors and turbines will be examined.

Undergraduate Research
Selected students work in small groups on focused research projects aligned with the research interests of the AEROFLARE Research Group. Students conduct literature reviews, perform analytical and/or computational investigations, and interpret their findings under faculty supervision. At the end of the course, each group prepares a technical report and presents its work to faculty members.

Aerospace Design II
Student groups are assigned to one of two tracks based on their interests: Aerodynamics & Propulsion or Structures & Control. The course (aero & propulsion section) includes mission analysis, engine selection, and iterative design development using CFD and FEA.

Theory and Design of Turbomachinery and Gas Turbines
The course reviews compressible-flow fundamentals and parametric cycle analysis of ideal and real gas-turbine engines. On/off-design performance is evaluated through hand calculations and comparison with commercial/open-source tools. Meanline design methods are applied to compressors and turbines for specified performance requirements. Blade element and axial momentum theories are also covered.
